Pick up and drop service!
We currently collect and drop off in the following areas: (please enquire if your home area is not listed)
Wymondham on particular days
The benefits of the collection and drop service are as follows:
We can guarantee there will be no hold ups waiting for horses to finish galloping, or danger of customers unwittingly crossing the gallops when it is in use.
The majority of dogs will arrive in two groups, and will all be in by 10am. We have found the dogs settle much quicker when they arrive at similar times, and will allow us to implement a more structured timetable of activities throughout the day. Please see below for further details on proposed timetable.
The access gate to the gallops will be closed after 10am until 3:00pm – this will help ensure should any of our neighbours (the horses, sheep and soon to be cows) escape they will not be able to stray far from their field. If you are coming to collect your dog after a half day session, or before 3:00pm we ask that you open the gate (it will be closed but not locked) as you arrive, and close it again after you have left.
When will my dog be picked up and do I have to be there?
Pick up’s will be made approximately between 7:45 and 9:15am. You will be contacted with a more accurate collection/drop off time at least a day before your dogs visit. You do not need to be home when your dog is collected or dropped off, but a set of keys will either need to be held by Amy, or located in an accessible place at the home.
What about drop off’s?
We also propose to drop all dogs off at home who live within the areas listed, who are unable to be collected by 4:30pm. Drop off’s will be made at the end of the day between 3:15pm and 4:45pm (to beat the evening traffic!). All dogs will have had a good 6 hours of play, walks and cuddles at Daycare before being dropped home for a well earned rest.
The benefits of this are:
We will be better able to timetable the afternoon, and ensure that all dogs are groomed and ready for home/transport at a particular time.
We will have time at the end of the day, after all dogs have left, to ensure that a high level of cleanliness is achieved and the centre is even better organised and ready for the following day.
We would also have time at the end of the day to better plan enrichment activities for the dogs, to make their time at the Daycare even more enjoyable!
We have found that most of the dogs are pretty sleepy by 4pm, and are quite ready to head home for a snooze!
Do I need to be home when my dog is dropped off?
No, we can leave your dog in a pre allocated place in your home, if you are unable to be home before 4:45pm.
How will I know what my dog has been up to during his/her day?
All dogs will go home at the end of each day with a report card detailing their activities for the day, and passing on any news or information that may be of interest to the owner. (Please note if any urgent matters concerning your dog occur you will be called during the day).
We are excited to announce that we have acquired a specialist dog transporter vehicle for the task of doggy collections and drop offs. This is an ex police dog transporter van, and has been fitted with separate solid compartments for around 4/5 dogs, with full air conditioning.
Will my keys be safe?
All keys will be kept in a locked security box and under no circumstances will we ever label your keys with your address. Alternatively you may prefer to use an outdoor ‘key safe’ whereby your keys will remain at your property and will only be accessed when collecting or dropping off your dog.
What will it cost?
The collection and drop service is £3 return per day. This is per household rather than per dog.
What if my dog doesn’t like travelling very much?
All dogs should build up a positive association between the Daycare van and the doggy Daycare, and therefore should be willing to hop in for the short ride. We will let you know if any problems occur.
How long will they be travelling for?
We anticipate running two collections in the morning and two drop-offs in the afternoon, with each trip lasting no more than 30-45 minutes max.
Can I just use the service one way?
Yes that’s fine, we can just pick-up or just drop off your dog, depending on your needs, as long as the dog has been booked in for a whole day. Unfortunately we are unable to offer the collection/drop off service to dogs with a weekly half day booking at this point.
Since opening the Daycare it has become clear that our doggy guests who attend regularly settle into the Daycare with much greater ease on a daily basis, than those who come infrequently. In order to assist with the running of the Daycare, and to ensure that all dogs become familiar with each other, us, and the Daycare setting, we have decided to insist that for a dog to attend Daycare their owner must commit to a regular booking of at least one half day every week.
Unfortunately we will be unable to accept dogs on an ad hoc basis from Wednesday 16th March. It is also likely that as the Daycare becomes busier, we will not have space for dogs without a regular booking. We understand of course that owners and their dogs will go away on holidays and will have absences for particular reasons and this is absolutely fine!
Bookings in advance
All bookings will need to be made at least one week in advance, and monthly in advance is you wish to take advantage of the Dog Days Discount. This is to enable us to plan the week ahead, including transport routes and activities for the dogs in our care.
